Washington Conference Welcomes Derek Lane as Regional Ministries Coordinator

By Enoc Garcia, Washington Conference communication director

Washington Conference is pleased to welcome Pastor Derek L. Lane as our new Regional Ministries Coordinator, effective March 11, 2025. He follows Pastor Eugene Lewis, who now serves as Vice President and Regional Coordinator for the North Pacific Union Conference.

Pastor Lane will continue his current role as Outreach Ministries Coordinator, bringing a passion for community engagement and mission-driven leadership.

A graduate of Oakwood University, Mississippi State University, and the Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute at Stanford University, Lane brings a wealth of experience in ministry and nonprofit work. He contributed to the 2022 devotional Let Justice Roll and is the founder of Lane Consulting Group. As a former fundraising consultant for the North American Division’s Philanthropic Services for Institutions, he has helped launch over a dozen nonprofits and secured more than $30 million in grants and resources across North America.

“Ministry is the shape of the cross,” Lane shared. “The vertical beam reflects our relationship with God; the horizontal beam represents service to humanity. My vision is to see every person actively engaged in mission, working together to build communities marked by equity, fairness, and inclusion.”

Lane and his wife, Mae Aldridge-Lane, have four adult children and are grandparents to Zoe Abigail Alexander, with a second granddaughter, Maliyah Mahogany Lane, on the way.

Join us in celebrating and praying for this new chapter of leadership and service!
