Adventist Bookstore Offers New Focus on Health

June 2015 — The Adventist Book Center in Auburn, Wash., has a new owner, a new-but-familiar name, and new inventory selections! The bookstore went on the market in February 2015, and caught the attention of Alex Lingas, an Adventist businessman who runs Wholesome International and Wholesome Essentials, a vegetarian food distribution company, and owns Loma Linda Market (home of the famous Prune Cake). »Digitally "meet" Alex Lingas!

Adventist Student R-E-P-R-E-S-E-N-T-S at Regional Spelling Bee

March 2015  — Buena Vista SDA Elementary School fifth grade student Joel Monterrosa had just four hours to prepare for the King-Snohomish Regional Spelling Bee on March 29. After the school’s first place winner became ill, Monterrosa, as the second place spelling bee winner, and his parents quickly made arrangements to be at Seattle Town Hall.

Monterrosa’s first word to spell: tofu. “We were tickled when he had the word ‘tofu’ because it is a perfect word for an Adventist student,” says Vicki Rutherford, Buena Vista seventh grade teacher. “Vegetarianism has its advantages even at a spelling bee!” »Discover how far Monterrosa made it in the regional spelling bee!

A Vision for Relational Evangelism

January 2015 — Tyler Long, Washington Conference evangelism coordinator, is bringing a relational approach to evangelism in western Washington. Wilfley Tapped to Lead Health Ministries Department

December 2014 — Kevin Wilfley, who previously served as Washington Conference prayer ministries coordinator and Enumclaw Adventist Church pastor, will be transitioning into an expanded, full-time ministry role at the conference office in January 2015.
