Studies show that one of the most vulnerable periods of life for a person who's been incarcerated, is the time immediately following their release from prison. A positive housing environment has also been shown to be a crucial component of preventing a return to prison and encouraging a successful transition from incarceration to productive citizenship.
Adventist volunteers have long been active in visiting prisoners and encouraging a Christ-led life as an alternative to the path they've been following. However, upon release that support too often ends. The Department of Corrections doesn't allow prison volunteers to have contact with released prisoners.
We want to keep our promise of hope, renewal and love to these individuals. An Adventist transitional house will provide a place of encouragement and structure for those who choose to build a better life.
Add your support to ours and be part of God's restorative power in men and women's lives!
